Joe Rizzo was introduced to baseball at 5 years old, joining the Chantilly Little League in Virginia. Joe’s unwavering commitment from a young age allowed him to reach peak performance throughout his youth while playing for variety of organizations before landing with the EvoShield Canes.
In his junior year of high school, Joe began to attract college and MLB scouts with his ability to drive the baseball to all fields, showing good discipline at the plate, and consistency with his fielding. Joe ended the year batting .606 with seven home runs and was named the 2015 Virginia 6A State Player of the year. He followed with a commitment to play baseball at the University of South Carolina with a full scholarship. Joe finished his senior year hitting .392 with four home runs, leading him to the the 2016 MLB draft. He was selected as the 50th pick by the Seattle Mariners, kicking off his professional baseball career.
His dedication shaped his success on and off the field from elementary school to the pros. Joe achieved the California League Championship Series Most Valuable Player in 2017, the California Mid-Season All-Star in 2017 and 2018, the Alvin Davis Mr. Mariner award in 2019, followed by the prestigious MiLB Organization All-Star award in 2019 and 2022.
Joe Rizzo has continued his passion for baseball by joining the Oakton High School Coaching staff in 2023 and the Rakers 12U Travel Team.
